Pathfinder Sabbath January 17 2009, Tampa Florida

I am writing this Saturday night and my heart is still pounding with joy and excitement about everything that happened in church this morning and all day long. Today was Pathfinder Sabbath at Tampa First. As well as our own Pathfinder club coming together we also invited the other area clubs as well. Our worship service consisted of a lively and energetic praise and worship time, followed by a sermon that was just as electrifying. Pastor Edwin Rosado brought us a wonderful message on how much God loves us. He spoke of the challenge that Elijah gave ancient Israel when he told them if God be God then serve Him. Edwin encouraged us to choose God over the world and gave us many good reasons why. He encouraged us to make a difference in the world so that people who are in the world but longing for something more can find something more in our church family. Everyone was moved and motivated by this wonderful sermon.

After the worship service the Pathfinders had a special lunch. We had spaghetti with a special homemade sauce created by our own Eddie Kearse. Instead of eating at Olive Garden I think I will just eat at Eddie’s house from now on. After our worship service we had a great time fellowshipping at lunch.

After lunch the Pathfinders then went to Copeland Park where we handed out water to the people playing basketball and walking around, along with a tract on the gift of God as well as a card offering Discover Bible Study Guides.  The people really appreciated the water and graciously took the cards. We even ran into a couple of non Adventists at the park who upon seeing our uniforms knew right away we were Pathfinders!

Just when you would think it couldn’t get any better we came back for vespers. Eddie and Edlin introduced us to a fun Bible guessing game that everyone enjoyed and learned from. Then Pastor Edwin gave us another inspiring devotional thought. After his talk he invited us to come forward for prayer and also gave an invitation for baptism. Two Pathfinders decided to be baptized! The whole day started out great and then just blossomed and got better and better!

After vespers we enjoyed some more games, leftover Spaghetti and fellowship. If you missed church this Sabbath, man I feel sorry for you! I hope you never have to miss another one. Go Pathfinders!!

The Adventurers Joined us too!

After the Pathfinder and Adventurer pledge and laws the Pathfinder praise team led out in a very energetic and inspiring praise time which kept everyone alive and fired up for Jesus!

Pastor Edwin, who grew up here, came back from where he is pastor in Lafayette, Louisiana to bring us our message. We are all very proud of him!

Our Pathfinder drum corps attracted the crowd at the park and then we gave them the water and tracts.

Cameron shares water and a tract with a thirsty football player.

After the Sabbath the games got very intense! Here Miles and kenson are going at it in fuseball. Who says Christians can't have fun? In reality Christians are the only ones who can have real fun.

Crystal and Isaline gave us a concert never to be forgotten. Crystal is also one of the two Pathfinders deciding to be baptized tonight, joining Dienby!

If you are interested in being baptized or would like to talk and pray about it please contact me at LayPastor@TampaAdventist.net I would love to hear from you!

All in all at the end of the day it was a great day to be an Adventist and an even greater day to be an Adventist Pathfinder, and even better than that, an Adventist Pathfinder in Tampa Florida! Sends chills of joy down my spine just thinking about it!

Pastor Edwin did not realize we were planning on him speaking for vespers too. At the last minute he came up with a devotional that led to two people requesting baptism!
